ITEM 1: On sheet #1, the material for
bulkhead C1 was 2024-T3 it is now shown as 6061-T6. Either can be used, the
change is for economy only.
ITEM 2: On sheet #8, (for clarification)
the .025 x 12 ¾ rear spar doubler is located on the inside and between the
ribs.
ITEM 3: For those who would like to make
one piece ribs, the dimensions for the lightening holes and stiffening
embossments are shown in the diagram below. The outside dimensions are the
same as the full size built up ribs shown on the plans (be sure to add
enough material to your one piece blank to make your flanges). |

MORRY’S METHOD
FOR DRILLING FUSELAGE SKINS |
|
This method will insure bulkheads will not move, for
perfect edge distance of bulkheads. |
|
1.
Drill all bulkhead tabs for rivet locations. Wrap skin F to E. With
12” long #41 bit, drill from inside out through skin.
2.
Apply two rows of ¾” masking tape. Draw line from center of holes 2”
long toward rear.
3.
Draw line 1½” from rivet hole to rear.
4.
Every 5th hole install 3/32” type 3
rivet to hold bulkhead in place. File heads down.
Apply skin E
to D. Apply tape over rivet holes. Draw line forward from 1½” line on tape
to rivet hole. Measure 1½” forward locating rivet hole. Drill through skin
and cleco. Drill through 3/32 rivets |
