MORRY’S METHOD FOR DRILLING FUSELAGE SKINS

This method will insure bulkheads will not move, for perfect edge distance of bulkheads.

1.       Drill all bulkhead tabs for rivet locations.  Wrap skin F to E.  With 12” long #41 bit, drill from inside out through skin.

2.       Apply two rows of ¾” masking tape.  Draw line from center of holes 2” long toward rear.

3.       Draw line 1½” from rivet hole to rear.

4.       Every 5th hole install 3/32” type 3 rivet to hold bulkhead in place.  File heads down.

Apply skin E to D.  Apply tape over rivet holes.  Draw line forward from 1½” line on tape to rivet hole.  Measure 1½” forward locating rivet hole.  Drill through skin and cleco.  Drill through 3/32 rivets
