Plus Builder:
We
recently had the opportunity to do a static stress test to confirm to “G” rating
on the UltraCruiser. We found that at less than 3 G’s the carry thru began to
bow forward. We decided to stop the test, reinforce the carry thru and continue
the test. We achieved 6 G’s with the mod and are pleased with the 4 G rating
for the UltraCruiser.
We have
not static stressed an UC Plus at this time. However, after much discussion and
consulting we are going to add a similar mod to the Plus drawings.
See the
attached sketch for the details of the additional carry thru support. You will
notice that even if your Plus is nearly complete, the mod is fairly simple to
install and does not require “major surgery”. Let us know if you have any
questions.
Hummel Aviation will make available a materials
package to facilitate this change. This package will cost $50 including
shipping (additional shipping for overseas) and consists of the following:
