Just bought Baldwin Garland's HB out here in MN, and I am planning to partially de-skin it, inspect, convert from tailwheel to tri, and hopefully make it wider. It seems to be built to Morry's original narrow spec. It is only 20" at the widest point in the cockpit. Anyone know what it takes to widen it and how wide I can go? I am hoping for 22.5 inches at the shoulder. I am 5'8 and 190lbs so this should be a pretty good fit I think. Anyone know of this plane's history by the way?

Good evening Gentlemen
I too have purchased a "work in progress" hummelbird. It appeared to be 80% complete but after a closer inspection it is more like 80% to go. Just as a FYI the bulkhead that forms the cockpit on mine measures almost 23 in. by 27 in.
